Apartment Review for Chestnut Hill Tower - Philadelphia, PA

When you first come here you think, wow, great view, lots of parking nice big terrace...etc. Its all a big lie. I've lived there for a few years and finally had enough. Do you pay your rent on time? If you do here, don't expect the check to clear for at least a week and a half. Seems like they never like to go to the bank. Be prepared though cause if you pay late, they will charge you $50 dollars. That sounds fair right' Parking' What parking' If you want to park in the garage, its $100 a month. Not worth it. The place leaks and still fills with water and half the time the garage doest open when its suppposed to. Be prepared to sit there for a while waiting for the automatic opener to respond. The parking lot is has security cameras which seems like a good idea. Good luck getting them to look at them if someone damages your car. A fellow tenant had their car hit and was told that maintenace would review the tapes. They never did and never help find the culprit. If you arrive home after 6:00pm, good luck finding a spot. It seems to be regular practice that tenants make their own spots. A few tenants even have cars with no tags or inspection that take up spots. You'll see them out there doing major repairs, I'm talking engine hoists!!!, on the weekends. Are you serious? The reivews about the maintenance staff are spot on. The automatic front door was broken for 6 months. There is a hole in the side parking lot that is impossible to avoid when you exit. They tried fixing it, you should have seen the setup. I took pictures it was hilarious. The head of the department is a good guy and he tries but its not his fault. The owners are negligent of this place. The apts are falling apart. Terraces have major cracks in them, the side of the building is falling off. No joke. Its cracked and bees live in there. I had a heck of a time getting rid of them. I had a wall oven that had no knob. I never knew what the temp was inside for cooking. I called to complain about it and they never fixed it. I could go on and on, believe me. I understand that not everyone is perfect and there are faults everywhere but this is ridiculous. As one review said, if you rent here, you are getting what you deserve. There are plenty of reivews warning you. Heade these warnings!!!! For the price I paid for a two bed/two bath, I could have gone to The Towers, formaly know as Trilogy, a mile down the road and got a penthouse two bed/two bath with the same city view! Beware this place is a dump!!!!
