Apartment Review
It's livable, but not luxury

Apartment has a front desk, and most of the people who work it are very nice. I have really enjoyed the exercise facility. It's not very large and it's well-used so it's often crowded, but it's convenient and usable. There's also a swimming pool in the summer if you pay extra to join the swim club. Drawbacks, however, are numerous. 1. Safety - The front entrance is locked and manned by security and they tend to be careful about letting in strangers. However, there's a back door that people tend to prop open at all hours of the day and homeless people live by the back door and into the basement. There are numerous mentally ill individuals who seem to make the parking lot their home. I feel very unsafe using the back exit after dark. 2. Maintenance - The lobby is beautiful, but the apartment hallways are disgusting. The carpet in my hall is old, stained, and worn. The paint on the wall outside my apartment is pealing severely. There's graffiti written on the walls. Management is also not good about fixing/maintaining the apartments themselves. My bathtub and stove are old and very rust stained. It feels unsanitary to use them. I wouldn't take a bath in that tub if someone paid me to and I try to microwave all my food. Also, there is clearly a water leakage problem somewhere because my ceilings and walls are bubbling out and pealing off from water damage and I can hear dripping in my walls after big storms. However, all maintance has ever done is attempted to spackle over the worst of the visible damage - and only if I harrass them constantly about it. I'm not a very picky person. I lived about a dry cleaners for years. And this place is livable and has nice features. Overall though, the drawbacks it does have are large and I can't wait until I move out.
